So this Sunday is one of the biggest days of the year for a lot of people; The NFL Superbowl. If you didnt know already there are 2 teams in a game so it will be the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens. Of course there are people who are going to say that there is absolutely no chance for either team winning, with multiple biased opinions, but statistics say that San Fran will win. With Colin Kaepaernick as the Rookie QB of the year, it will be the most important game of his life. Ray Lewis who is a linebacker for the Ravens, is the leader of the team and team mates to get motivation to do the best they can, with defeating New England Patriots with the upset, people had all eyes on this team that they may actually have what it takes to win it all. We will see what happens with that.
Now for Hockey, The Maples Leafs stand 9th out of 15 with 3 wins and 3 Losses. People are already saying that people arent having to much hope for the future. The reason for this is because of last years great season at first, then a downhill spiral to not making the playoffs for the 7th time in a row. However the games that have been played have been pretty exciting, with 2 seconds left the leafs put it in the net to win just before overtime to beat Buffalo 4-3. With the big win against Pittsburgh and the healthy crosby, people may believe that the Leafs will make the playoffs finally, and heaven forbid, MAYBE win the cup.

First Week in NHL going Well
The NHL season just started this past saturday, January 19th 2013. In the Montreal Canadian stadium, people were there at 7:30am and waited for upwards of 12 hours, just to be able to get a good seat for the first home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. In Vancouver, Henrik Sedin addressed to fans prior to their game against the Anaheim Ducks saying "We are very sorry for the Lockout and will do everything in our power to have a great season, going towards the cup. Thank you."
The moral of the story here is that the NHL is very worried about the revenue that will be produced during this regular season, especially southern teams such as the Florida Panthers, and especially last place teams such as the Columbus Blue Jackets, having post lockout problems. However with all this worry, NBC received record breaking numbers for television viewership, come Saturday night, with a rating of 2.3. This has been the highest rating since 2002, over 11 years ago. With all this information being stated, Florida won, the Maple leafs Won, and the whole league is off to a great start in terms of revenue gaining, especially when most teams are selling tickets for a dirt cheap price of 10$, mind you they arent good seats, but people still would buy them. A lot of people stuck around to watch the triple header that happened, with hockey starting at 3 all the way until 1am to finish the 3rd game.
Twitter was also exploding after and during these games, the hashtag #NHL was the popular trend mingling in the tweeting world. After games, players in the NHL showed how they felt towards being back in the game and the regular season. Joffrey Lupul of the Toronto Maple Leafs says "So happy to be back playing again for the next 5 with the Maple Leafs, lets bring home the cup" as well as many other players showing the fun and future goals they have.
All and all the NHL is doing really well right now and hopefully it will continue.

NHL Lockout No more
As im sure all of you know, the NHL is back and people are buzzing about all the news...or are they? In recent news with Commissioner Gary Bettman announcing a deal with Don Fehr and the NHLPA, it seems there is a lot of lost ground the catch up on finally. Although people are excited to be back with the NHL, people say they will not be willing to spend the money in person to actually go to the games making the joke, "i may get locked out", so the NHL in my opinion has to create a form of incentive for people to actually care again, which will be a hard task because people thought that gary bettman was just stupid and couldnt make a deal cause hes greedy. However from the players perspective, it is like a kid in a candy store, the reactions are just really anxious and really happy because all they have really been doing is just keeping in shape and thats all. All and all it seems important to canada that the nhl stays out of a lockout, because of all the people who are passionate about it. It seems important that the NHL stays out of this lockout for many years to come because people arent gonna keep buying tickets if the NHL stops because of salaries to people who already make a ridiculous amount for hockey.
